In the No. 1 Document of 2014, there are more detailed measures on developing agricultural insurance, such as “gradually reducing or eliminating county level premium subsidy of big grain producing counties”, “continuously increasing the coverage on and insurance level of the 3 major crops, i.e. rice, wheat and corn”, etc.

It is believed by the experts that the document will play an important role in improving China’s agricultural insurance system and in guaranteeing food security.
